
State Prevention, Preparedness and Mitigation (PPM) Funding Opportunity
Funding Information
The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands provides an opportunity for eligible entities to apply for funding to support projects and activities related to wildfire hazard reduction in at-risk areas within the state.
Eligible project and activity types include, but are not limited to:
- Wildfire hazard reduction;
- Restoration of healthy and resilient forests; or
- Reduction of wildfire risk to human safety, water resources, and other natural resources.
Eligible applicants include:
- An eligible entity that has entered into a cooperative agreement, as described in Utah Code § 65A-8-203.
- Forestry, Fire, and State Lands programs.
Eligible entities, collaborate with your respective FFSL Area’s Forester and/or Wildland-urban Interface (WUI) Specialist. After making sure the project or activity aligns with the purpose of the PPM funding opportunity, submit applications through your FFSL Area’s Forester and/or Wildland-urban Interface (WUI) Specialist.
For Foresters and WUI Specialists: In the event that you have more than one submission from your Area, prioritize applications through your fuels workgroup then submit them to the funding point of contact by October 31, 2026.
Timeline
- The deadline for applications is October 31, 2026.
- Notification of award will be on or before February 2, 2027.
- Projects must be completed on or before June 30th, 2028.
