The state of Utah’s Wildland Fire Operation Center employees both seasonal and permanent personnel. Currently, the operation center employs over 140 individuals from hotshot crews, to aviation support and fuels management. Employment and crew information can be found on this page.

Fire Resources

The state of Utah sponsors two hotshot crews, two type 2IA handcrews, a fuels module, engines, and a helitack crew. The state also supports wildland firefighting aviation efforts with its contracted aircraft. Below is information about each crew and employment opportunities.
The Lone Peak Hotshots are a nationally recognized Type 1 Interagency Hotshot Crew (IHC), based out of the Wildland Fire Operations Center (Ops Center), in South Salt Lake, Utah. The crew is hosted and sponsored by the Utah Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands (FFSL).
