Story Planted by Jacob Houtz who brought this tree from California in 1865 by covered wagon. It is a beautifully shaped tree with inch long thorns and dark green leaves. The fruit is very sweet and never fails to have large rose cheek pears. The tree was dedicated Arbor Day, April 29, 1983 by Robert R. Bailey.
