Story The Ruple Ranch, established in 1883, is home to a large cottonwood tree that is thought to be the largest of its kind in the western Untied States. The Ruples used it to hang up saddles, bridles, and harnesses, and they enjoyed its peaceful shade. The cottonwood remains today as a distinctive landmark in Island Park.
