Story Located in the heart of the Ashley National Forest, this Blue Spruce towers over the surrounding trees at 129 feet in height and boasts a circumference of 192 inches at breast height. Sherrell Goodrich, a Forest Service employee, was the first person to discover this hidden giant in the mid 1970's. In 1991, measurements were sent in of the tree and it quickly claimed the national champion status.
